JOB DESCRIPTION: The United States ’ largest producer of military and commercial small arms propellant is seeking a Safety Engineer for their operations in Northern Florida . Job duties include:
• Responsible for oversight and training of Safety programs: Right to Know, MSDS System, Industrial Hygiene, Noise, Lockout/Tagout, Confined Space Entry, TSCA, Respiratory protections, HAZ Whopper. cb
• Responsible for plant field safety which includes monitoring an enforcing safe work practices in the plant.
• Other field safety responsibilities include: Hot work permits, incident investigation and corrective action development, safety inspections/audits, document review and approval.
• Responsible for providing safety and health related technical support to the plant.
• Review and approval of management of change process.
• Must have working knowledge of OSHA standards.
• The ability to identify safety hazards in an industrial environment.

JOB REQUIREMENTS:
• BA or BS in Safety, Engineering, Science or other applicable field.
• Minimum 2+ years experience working as a Safety professional in an industrial environment (Chemical Plant).
• Thorough knowledge of the manufacturing and support processes.
• Must posses good knowledge of cause and effect relationship of potential exposure and/or chemical hazards.
• CSP certification is a plus.
• Must have Behavioral Based Safety experience.
• Ergonomics background is desired, but not required.
• Need Process Safety Management experience, especially with Process Hazard Analysis.
• Union work environment experience.
